Philippine's independence is really important to us, especially to those who have fought for this. June 12, t he day in which the annual celebration of our country’s Independence is commemorated by our fellow countrymen and women alike. The day in which everyone reminiscence the time in which our nation was given a right to be governed by no one else but our blood kin. But how did this day came to be? How did become the holiday we all know and celebrate?      Here’s a brief history on how the Independence Day of the Philippines became the holiday we all know and commemorate.      It all started back in 1565, when the Spaniards arrived in the Philippines and colonized the Filipinos. Their homes were taken away from us and they were introduced into new things such as religion and a new government system. Soon after their lives changed. For better, and for the worse. The Filipinos were discriminated upon. Social hierarchies soon became in place in the country. And some peop

HERO WAYS, ZERO WASTE!

What is Waste Management? In simplest terms, waste management is the collection, transportation, and disposal of garbage and other waste products. The most significant type of waste that ends up in landfills is food. Aside from economic losses, food waste is also a producer of greenhouse gases.      The second-largest type of waste that is found in landfills is plastic. Plastic waste contributes greatly to climate change and poses a critical threat to pollution, biodiversity, and human health. While some types of plastic waste can’t be recycled such as single-use plastic bags and straws, most we toss can actually be recycled or reused.      The situation is alarming and needs everyone to start taking immediate action to deal with the garbage problem. The first step is to reduce the waste being generated at the individual level.           According to a study by World Economic Forum, oceans globally will have more plastic than fish by 2050. The menace of plastic pollution is

MOTHER'S LOVE

In this world, there are many kinds of love, but the towering epitome of the most genuine, unconditional kind of love is undoubtedly the love of a mother. It is therefore a magnanimous act of humanity to accord all mothers the due recognition and honor they deserve during Mother’s Day which is celebrated every second Sunday of May. I think that this is a celebration of love that goes beyond jubilation and perpetuate our lasting awareness that the essence of being a woman is indeed motherhood. Without mothers, the world would be nothing but a barren emptiness. People learn to love and share their affection without malice with other people because the basic foundation of love is a mother’s love. Somehow, by some stroke of unfounded hatred or misunderstanding, some people may despise their mother. But never would a mother delete the love within her heart and curse her child. I believe that this is the unseen force that binds people from all walks of life, regardless of ra

BINATBATAN FESTIVAL OF ARTS: A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a Miracle

The Viva Vigan Festival of Arts is celebrated the first week of the month of May. It was started in 1993 by the Save Vigan Ancestral Homes Association, Inc. (SVAHAI) to promote awareness of the value of the historic town, which was hoped to strengthen the resolve to preserve and protect this heritage site. For the past sixteen years, the festival of arts has been successful in drumming up attention for Vigan's ancestral houses. With the help of national and local agencies and media, arts and non-governmental supporters, the festival has also succeeded in promoting other aspects of Vigan.       Although, because of the pandemic, the latest festival held was inevitably different. A lot of activities held were according to the situation.      But the pandemic didn't stop the Ilocanos to celebrate their festivities. With proper safety precautions, the festival happened safely this year. REFERENCES: https://www.edmaration.com/2012/05/viva-vigan-festival-binatbatan-stre

REFLECTION (QUARTER THREE)

This grading is so remarkable for me. So many hardships I've had encountered in making my tasks.     Although, two months of the journey of the third-quarter period, many concepts were taught to us, such as the HTML Links, wherein we can link HTML files and link photos, and create our own web design.      I will continue to make HTML for my own web design. Someday, I'd be proud of myself that I've studied so hard, that I've created such a masterpiece. RESOURCES : Image used from  athlosstcloud.org

COVID-19 VACCINES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

The world is in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. As WHO and partners work together on the response -- tracking the pandemic, advising on critical interventions, distributing vital medical supplies to those in need--- they are racing to develop and deploy safe and effective vaccines.  Vaccines save millions of lives each year. Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defenses – the immune system – to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria they target. After vaccination, if the body is later exposed to those disease-causing germs, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness. There are several safe and effective vaccines that prevent people from getting seriously ill or dying from COVID-19.  This   is one part of managing COVID-19, in addition to the main preventive measures of keeping a safe distance from others and avoiding crowds, wearing a well-fitting mask covering your mouth and nose, keeping indoor spaces well ventilated, cleanin
