PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE: The most significant event in our Country's History

Philippine's independence is really important to us, especially to those who have fought for this. June 12, the day in which the annual celebration of our country’s Independence is commemorated by our fellow countrymen and women alike. The day in which everyone reminiscence the time in which our nation was given a right to be governed by no one else but our blood kin. But how did this day came to be? How did become the holiday we all know and celebrate?

Here’s a brief history on how the Independence Day of the Philippines became the holiday we all know and commemorate.

It all started back in 1565, when the Spaniards arrived in the Philippines and colonized the Filipinos. Their homes were taken away from us and they were introduced into new things such as religion and a new government system. Soon after their lives changed. For better, and for the worse. The Filipinos were discriminated upon. Social hierarchies soon became in place in the country. And some people weren’t able to pursue education because of poverty and discrimination. But all of that changed when Jose Rizal came into the picture and the Katipunan was formed by Andres Bonifacio. Because Rizal invoked the fire for revolution and Andres Bonifacio for creating a secret organization, and Emilio Aguinaldo for leading the revolutionary government during the War between the Spaniards and the Americans, Emilio Aguinaldo was able to finally declare the Philippines “an independent nation” on June 12, 1898. But it wouldn’t be recognized as an independent country until July 4, 1946.

In short, the Spaniards colonized and took control of the country and made changes throughout the ruling of the nation. Many Filipinos faced hardship like discrimination, poverty, etc. because of the changes that were made like social hierarchy, and probably more. But because of Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Emilio Aguinaldo, and all of the other people that supported the revolution, they were able to take back their country from the Spaniards, with a little help from the Americans.

In conclusion, the Independence Day of the Philippines is and always should be significant. We must offer respect to not only the known national heroes but all of the Filipino soldiers and citizens who fought against the past colonial rules. They died with honor, they died to achieve the country’s independence. That is why we should bring awareness to today’s generation of Filipinos. We should always make time to offer our prayers to our fallen kababayans. We are not where we are today if it was not for them. We don’t have this so called “Kalayaan” if it was not for them. Henceforth, express thy gratitude during this glorious day.

Celebration of Christmas Season in its essence, amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic

Like any other Catholic and Christian country in the world, the Philippines also celebrates Christmas but way longer than any other country in the world. For Filipinos, Christmas is one of the most important holidays. Filipinos love to celebrate Christmas with family, relatives, and friends. It is the time of the year when Filipino families usually reunite and do things together with much fun, vigor, and festivities.       But in this time of the coronavirus pandemic , Christmas merriments in the Philippines are different, unlike in previous times. Some, if not all the wonderful Christmas traditions and practices have to some extent been compromised. For instance, traditional gatherings with family, friends, and neighbors which are deemed unsafe and risky as they may facilitate the spread of the coronavirus have to some extent been discouraged and shifted online.  The number of people who can attend “simbang gabi” has been limited as we...

REFLECTION (QUARTER THREE)

This grading is so remarkable for me. So many hardships I've had encountered in making my tasks.     Although, two months of the journey of the third-quarter period, many concepts were taught to us, such as the HTML Links, wherein we can link HTML files and link photos, and create our own web design.      I will continue to make HTML for my own web design. Someday, I'd be proud of myself that I've studied so hard, that I've created such a masterpiece. RESOURCES : Image used from  athlosstcloud.org

COVID-19 VACCINES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

The world is in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. As WHO and partners work together on the response -- tracking the pandemic, advising on critical interventions, distributing vital medical supplies to those in need--- they are racing to develop and deploy safe and effective vaccines.  Vaccines save millions of lives each year. Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defenses – the immune system – to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria they target. After vaccination, if the body is later exposed to those disease-causing germs, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness. There are several safe and effective vaccines that prevent people from getting seriously ill or dying from COVID-19.  This   is one part of managing COVID-19, in addition to the main preventive measures of keeping a safe distance from others and avoiding crowds, wearing a well-fitting mask covering your mouth and nose, keeping indoor sp...
