MOTHER'S LOVE

In this world, there are many kinds of love, but the towering epitome of the most genuine, unconditional kind of love is undoubtedly the love of a mother. It is therefore a magnanimous act of humanity to accord all mothers the due recognition and honor they deserve during Mother’s Day which is celebrated every second Sunday of May. I think that this is a celebration of love that goes beyond jubilation and perpetuate our lasting awareness that the essence of being a woman is indeed motherhood.

Without mothers, the world would be nothing but a barren emptiness. People learn to love and share their affection without malice with other people because the basic foundation of love is a mother’s love. Somehow, by some stroke of unfounded hatred or misunderstanding, some people may despise their mother. But never would a mother delete the love within her heart and curse her child. I believe that this is the unseen force that binds people from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, or culture. I think that the love of a mother is the element that makes our life exist with meaning and purpose. We don’t exist mechanically, but we live in an atmosphere of loving and sharing.

Each one of us must understand how we came into this world. This would provide us the proper perspective on the role of mothers in people’s lives. The physical catastrophe of surrendering the things of youth, and carrying a developing child inside a womb for 9 months is simply unimaginable. A mother undergoes a painful process of not only physical but also emotional, psychological, and social wreckage during pregnancy. She endures them all with tremendous endurance that certainly men could not match. All of these present a dilemma for her. And she opts to bear a child. The pain that engulfs her whole being catapults during the birth of her child, only to start another chapter of her life nurturing her son or daughter.

I can not really fathom the abysmal depth of a mother’s love. As for me, all of us must remain enlightened by the love of our mother, highlighted on Mother’s Day!

THE HISTORICAL BATTLE OF BATAAN: Araw ng Kagitingan

Bataan has fallen.       Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), April 9, the day Bataan fell into Japanese hands, was declared a  national holiday in the Philippines .  Previously called Bataan Day, the day is now known as  Day of Valor  or Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorating both the Fall of Bataan (April 9, 1942) and the Fall of Corregidor (May 6, 1942).     The capture of the Philippine Islands was crucial to Japan's effort to control the Southwest Pacific, seize the  resource -rich  Dutch East Indies , and protect its  Southeast Asian  flank. In late summer 1941, the Roosevelt Administration began a series of moves toward Japan that could only conclude with war. It began supplying arms to  Chiang Kai-shek  in China, began a massive military build-up in the Philippines, and imposed a series of embargoes, most importantly a refusal to sell Japan petroleum unless they evacuated all of China, including  Manchukuo  (Manchuria). This "ultimatum" was rejected by Japan and

BINATBATAN FESTIVAL OF ARTS: A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a Miracle

The Viva Vigan Festival of Arts is celebrated the first week of the month of May. It was started in 1993 by the Save Vigan Ancestral Homes Association, Inc. (SVAHAI) to promote awareness of the value of the historic town, which was hoped to strengthen the resolve to preserve and protect this heritage site. For the past sixteen years, the festival of arts has been successful in drumming up attention for Vigan's ancestral houses. With the help of national and local agencies and media, arts and non-governmental supporters, the festival has also succeeded in promoting other aspects of Vigan.       Although, because of the pandemic, the latest festival held was inevitably different. A lot of activities held were according to the situation.      But the pandemic didn't stop the Ilocanos to celebrate their festivities. With proper safety precautions, the festival happened safely this year. REFERENCES: https://www.edmaration.com/2012/05/viva-vigan-festival-binatbatan-stre

PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE: The most significant event in our Country's History

Philippine's independence is really important to us, especially to those who have fought for this. June 12, t he day in which the annual celebration of our country’s Independence is commemorated by our fellow countrymen and women alike. The day in which everyone reminiscence the time in which our nation was given a right to be governed by no one else but our blood kin. But how did this day came to be? How did become the holiday we all know and celebrate?      Here’s a brief history on how the Independence Day of the Philippines became the holiday we all know and commemorate.      It all started back in 1565, when the Spaniards arrived in the Philippines and colonized the Filipinos. Their homes were taken away from us and they were introduced into new things such as religion and a new government system. Soon after their lives changed. For better, and for the worse. The Filipinos were discriminated upon. Social hierarchies soon became in place in the country. And some peop
